Guerilla Shooting

How do you write a script to something that is completely dependent on the locations that you can acquire? I mean this as being the dilemma or true no-budget filmmaking. I suppose there are a couple of ways.

First, one can adapt a certain storyline or theme around a location you know you can get. Say you work at a warehouse and you know the boss. You'd know when the off times were and could film around that at no cost. Having a personal investment in a location seems ideal.

Then there is the open public space. These are your plazas and roads and sidewalks and what-not. Being a small production, with only a camera, actors, and possibly a boom and lighting, the crew should be small enough to facilitate just shooting on the fly.

Many places won't allow filming unless you have some crazy insurance, which isn't very helpful if you are a no-budget shooter. So I say, screw 'em. Shoot until you get kicked out.
